Alfred Wilcox VC

Alfred Wilcox (born around 1885) appears in the centre of the top line of the memorial plaque. Probably as he was awarded a Victoria Cross for his actions in the war. We have yet to find any evidence of his athletic performances, but his sporting attributes appear to have been very useful when he was at the front line.
